As of this date, North Texas Dental Care has been open for emergencies but closed for routine care for six weeks by order of the governor and the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.
During this time, we have been busy implementing changes to our office protocols in order to keep our patients, staff, and visitors to our office as safe as possible.
We want to outline some of these changes so that you will be prepared for your dental visits during and after this crisis.
First, staff members are required to take their temperature, wash their hands, sanitize their cell phones prior to entering the office. They are required to change into their personal protective equipment immediately upon entering the office. We want to make sure that we are all healthy to protect you from infectious diseases.
Second, access to our office is going to be tightly controlled. All patients and visitors will be required to be screened before entering the office. You will be asked to answer some questions related to your recent health, disinfect your hands, and take your temperature before entering the main portion of the office. If your temperature is greater than 100.4 degrees F, we will reschedule your visit and request that you contact your PCP for guidance before rescheduling. Also, if your screening questions reveal recent exposure to certain infectious diseases, we may require you to reschedule your visit. We will provide the items necessary items to accomplish these requirements. We may ask you to wear a mask while outside of the treatment rooms depending on the number of patients in our office at the time of your visit. Masks will be provided.
Third, when you arrive in our parking lot for a dental appointment, please call us at 903-455-0360 to inform us of your arrival. Please remain in your vehicle until instructed to enter the office. The only entrance to our office is via the disabled ramp on the west side of the building. We have signs to direct you to the entrance. As you enter this door, you will be directed to complete our screening protocol and instructed how to proceed.
Fourth, we can no longer allow any visitors in our treatment rooms except by the specific request of our doctor.
Fifth, we are allowing a few patients in our waiting room (parents of minor children, specific caregivers and others) but you must receive permission and must be screened along with practicing social distancing and/or wear a mask.
Sixth, please practice good judgement when you interact with our office. If you are sick, re-schedule your visit.
We know these changes are a difficult for everybody. Our goal is to keep our patients, staff, and visitors safe and healthy. These changes are in response to the Center for Disease Control Guidelines for Healthcare Facilities that mandate best practices for dental offices.
We are and will remain in compliance with all published guidance. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
If you have any questions or comments about these changes please contact us.
They know who I am and call me by name. When I'm getting work done, everyone is friendly and personable. They remember things about my family and my life which puts me at ease because dental work stresses me out. Always friendly. Always helpful. I love this office.
Like family......only nicer. Wonderful people. Excellent care. I look forward to my appointments. Dr. Nelson and his delightful staff make dentistry a pleasure. I don't think there is any room for improvement.
